Aynimundo: Innovation in development cooperation

Aynimundo works with communities in the urban periphery of southern Lima, Peru, the shantytowns, where the majority of inhabitants lives below the poverty line. Over the last 10 years, Aynimundo has established a solid base of successful participative development along two major programmes: "Education" and "Urban devlopment & Environment" Aynimundo strengthens and promotes local initiatives and offers the necessary technical support to implement these initiatives.

Ayni is derived from the Indian language Quechua. It means 'I help you, so that you may be able to help someone else’. It is not the often-used: 'I help you, so that you will help me in the future'.

Mundo is the Spanish word for ‘world’.

Aynimundo: a world based on the principle of mutual help.
